Glassworks OPEN STUDIO welcomes artists of all ages and abilities. There is no need for previous experience and no need for extraordinary talent. Anyone and everyone can be a glass artist at their own level at Glassworks. During your visit, our staff will introduce you to our project choices, instruct you in basic glass cutting and layout technigues and set you up to begin your creative experience. Our staff may answer your questions and give further direction as requested. How long does it take? This questions is difficult to answer as there are many contributing factors. Project size, materials used, type of design created, level of perfectionism for the artist and how long it may take to decide just what to do in the first place. We encourage people to leave the prefectionist at the door and come in for a creative, relaxed and enjoyable experience learning a new craft or improving your skills as you return time and time again. How much does it cost? There is a $7 participation fee and the projects in sandblasting run from $5 - 50, while the fusing projects run from $10-115. Additional fees apply only for glass upgrades, dichroic glass, and excess frit balls. |
